Using Cursor for Next.js UI polish without redesigning the brand

Abstract polished Next.js interface atmosphere

“Make it prettier” is how you lose an afternoon. Agents hear that as permission to invent a new aesthetic.

I prompt with constraints. Match the existing CSS variables. Keep the accent. Keep Syne / DM Sans. No new card chrome unless the section needs interaction. Extend Reveal and eyebrow patterns already on the page.

Feeding a sibling component that already looks right works better than a mood board paragraph. “Make OutcomesTeaser feel like TrustStrip” is concrete. “More premium” is not.

Motion gets the same treatment. I ask for two or three intentional motions — hero entrance, reveal on scroll — not decorative noise on every heading. Buyers for dental and contractor sites do not need confetti; they need calm trust.

I always add a mobile check in the prompt: first viewport still one composition, tap targets usable, no horizontal overflow. Agents love desktop screenshots. Patients and homeowners browse on phones.

For RazaStack client builds, polish means conversion clarity: estimate CTA visible, services scannable, reviews easy to find. Cursor can nudge spacing and hierarchy. It should not decide the brand voice.

If a run starts redesigning colors, I stop it. Re-prompt with the non-goals listed first. Non-goals are as important as goals when the model is eager.

Ready for a site that books patients or wins jobs?

Dental practices and home-service contractors — tell me your services, area, and timeline. I’ll reply with a practical plan.
